According to the DoD working military spouses lose approximately 6-9 months of salary per relocation. Unemployment benefits are not generally available to employees when they leave a job voluntarily. Quiting a job due to a military transfer is no quiting a job voluntarily. I am asking that all states amend unemployment compensation lasw to help military families who relocate between states. Of the 50 states there are 6 states who currently deny unemployment benefits to military spouses. Idaho, Louisiana, North Dakota, Ohio, Vermont and Virginia. Virginia ranks number 2 in the state with the highest concentration of military bases and personnel. Please help change military spouses and their families.
