I become very discouraged when reading certain arguments regarding this last election. Many people are quick to want to "secede from the United States" due to them being unhappy with the results. The issue I have with it is how ignorant they are with politics and government, and not realizing how a democracy is supposed to function. The majority of the arguments I have seen hold no value and I really believe that this nation needs to focus more on educating its people on the basics IF we are going to allow the people of this nation to vote for the highest positions in our government. Education is key and many votes are inaccurate and based on specific bias' instead of the knowingness of what the candidate is standing or fighting for.
I believe competency should be a requirement.
