require all cell phone and manufacturers and companies to extend all warranties to last the lifetime of the phone.

It is unreasonable to expect someone to purchase a phone, sign a 2 year contract, and then have the phone begin to fall apart and wear out a year to a year and a half later. It is illogical to sell an electronic device that will be considered obsolete before it can be upgraded or replaced without paying penalty fees.
