Require police offers to be covered by a liability insurance policy for cases of wrongdoing where there's a victim involved. Instead of taxpayers paying out large settlements to the victims of police brutality, why don't we hold the officers accountable and have their insurance company pay. If a cop gets too many claims against them, they couldn't be a cop anymore more because they wouldn't be able to afford the insurance or they would deny them coverage. It would all be based on their performance record in the feild. Doctors, lawyers, contractors, therapists, and many more occupations have insurance policies in place for malpractice or many other things they may be held liable for while doing their job, why not cops?
