Simply put, the United States is in a fiscal crisis. We have been for a very long time. It is time for our government to step up and take some responsibility. We, the American people, are tired of spending without liability.
The purpose of this petition is to require that any pay raise for the United States House of Representatives or United States Senate must be approved through popular vote by the American public. We, the people, see it unfit for a group of individuals to have the ability to increase their own salary, paid for out of the public's taxes, without proper check.
