Every police cruiser is equipped with a dashboard camera which is activated when the overhead lights of the car are turned on. Over a decade ago, the concept of equipping police officers with body cameras was introduced. Today, I believe we as Americans need to set a precedent that will positively impact all future encounters with Law Enforcement nation wide.
All footage from every camera during the course of an arrest needs to be made public and displayed in court before sentencing.
This law would display the actions of trained police officers, the subject(s) in question, precautions taken, and force used. If each arrest is filmed, we the people can be assured the punishment fits the crime, and we are aware of how our Law Enforcement are handling stops as well as arrests.
