I petition to create a means of allowing people who are listed by data brokers to be notified of their information listed, and have a way to modify or remove any of the text of their listing. It should be federal law that any company that uses personal information with another company have customers sign a separate form acknowledging specifically what is being sold to the latter company.
Research on this subject shows that this is a blatant violation of privacy. Employers are able to determine your sexual orientation, whether you smoke, whether you were an alcoholic, etc. not based on whether you posted publicly to Facebook these facts, but based on what websites you simply clicked on or bought from.
