Video and audio recordings provide an unbiased account of reality. The supreme court, by denying certiorari to Anita Alvarez v. ACLU of Illinois, upheld the lower court's decision, that preventing citizens from filming on duty officers was unconstitutional under the first amendment. However, video and audio recordings will not always be available from a third party citizen.
To obtain an unbiased account of events to be used in court, we petition to require audio and video recording, as is the case with dash cams, for all on duty law enforcement officers.
