Require that all electronic election systems be provided by non-profits, using open source systems with paper trails.

Created by B.N. on November 15, 2012

There are no trade secrets in elections. There are no patents to be protected, no competitive advantages to be had. All votes must count, and they must be counted accurately.

Corporate providers of electronic voting systems do so at great taxpayer cost, and shrouded in secrecy. Partisan officials in control of opaque systems preside over elections that lack both accountability and integrity. It's possible to publish live counts and track individual ballots. The technology exists to do so while protecting voter privacy and certifying the integrity of the vote.

We, the people, petition the federal government to draft a Constitutional amendment that certifies open, transparent elections are a human right, that the election process used within this country must be open and transparent.
