Require ALL Electronic Voting Machines to provide a printed receipt to each voter AND create a verifiable paper trail

Created by M.S. on November 17, 2012

Electronic voting machines must provide a printed receipt that shows what the voter selected and submitted for their vote. The voting receipt must be provided to each voter who votes via an electronic voting machine. A duplicate receipt mus also be maintained and store separately from the voting machine.

In addition, electronic voting machine must create a printed record (ledger) of every voters selection.

In the absence of such printed voting receipts, there is no way to verify that a citizen's vote was counted correctly.

This will help reduce election fraud by having a paper audit trail where the printed voting receipts can be matched to the printed voting ledger and electronic record.

Some states like California have such laws in place.
