Require all federal employees and representatives to pass scientific literacy testing prior to placement, nomination or assignment to policy committees dealing with science, technology and science education.
For too long we have allowed persons who are scientifically ignorant and technically incompetent to participate in crafting important science policy for our nation. These are people who refuse to evaluate evidence in a logical and open fashion. They are currently unqualified to understand the highly important science issues that our nation needs to deal with in a forum of peer review and acceptance of evidence-based thinking. The substitution of superstitious belief systems is no place for this important policy work.
