Federal employees who take an oath of office to “…swear to uphold the Constitution…” (or similar verbiage) often don’t have any knowledge of what the Constitution, and other founding documents such as the Declaration of Independence, have to say about how our government should operate. People who swear to uphold or defend it NEED to know what’s in it. This knowledge will help break down some of the extreme partisanship we see today as all sworn staff will have a common framework to guide their day-to-day decisions and functions.
