We call on the President and Congress to pass legislation stating that those who wish to purchase firearms must also purchase insurance covering the total potential cost of any monetary damages resulting from the use of the weapon. Insurance should cover all monetary damages caused through accidental discharge, intentional use or misuse against persons or property by the owner, or possible use or misuse by third parties who gained access to it through means either legal or otherwise.
The costs associated with firearms should not be borne by tax payers anymore.
