The second amendment was written to allow the citizens to defend themselves from foreign invaders in the form of a "well regulated militia." It was written in a time when America did not have a well established military (not to mention a time when muskets were the most advanced weaponry). The second amendment also contains no reference to defense from tyranny.
Therefore, we the undersigned request that all gun owners be required to register with a well regulated militia and receive the appropriate training as such.
