Textbooks and courses for high school education are currently determined at the state level. As one can imagine, this leaves history courses vulnerable to the petty biases of local legislatures.
We the People petition the Obama administration to create and fund a committee of skilled and well-respected historians to judge and create history curriculum and text books for our public schools, with an emphasis on avoiding bias in racial and religious areas. This committee would replace the individual state mechanisms for textbook selection, creating a fair and unified system that prevents denial of information for political reasons.
