The recent death of Michael Brown and the failure for indictment from Ferguson's grand jury has left the nation outraged. There have been live broadcasts of riots in Ferguson, MO, but no video has been reported of the actual shooting. To end racism claims and to ensure we hire law enforcement officials to correctly perform their duties, I pose a simple and fair solution.
District of Columbia police have begun wearing cameras on duty to monitor their actions for $1 million. I propose we instate a mandatory law for officials to wear a surveillance camera on their uniform, of which they are unable to turn off and will remain active on duty. In order to to fund this, I suggest the allocation of a small percent of taxpayer money that would otherwise go to unnecessary military expenditures.
