A LAW ENFORCEMENT OFFICER, also known as a "peace officer," is supposed to protect and serve the public interest. With the rash of police killings of black people, there seems to be a gross misuse of the badge to target people of color to terrorize the community. Almost all of the victims did nothing more than break a minor traffic rule that requires a simple traffic ticket that ends up with the person being shot and killed by the police, or mysteriously "suiciding" themselves while in custody.
We propose all law enforcement officers (nationwide) be required to carry liability insurance that pays victims from that insurance. Taxpayers should not pay for their murders. Also, increase union dues to cover civilian lawsuits.
