The purpose of this petition is to allow those that govern the people the opportunity to see how unlivable the Federal Minimum Wage is. During those six months, they should be taxed for the appropriate tax bracket for said wages. Perhaps they will begin to understand that living at $7.35/hr and paying the average rent of between $700-$1000 is impossible. This doesn't include the cost of groceries, utilities, and most people also have car payments as well. The only way for them to understand the plight of the average worker is to earn as one. Let this be a real life lesson on living in today's economy.
