Require that all members of Congress to take a pay cut of 60% in lieu of cutting federal funding for government programs

Each year we hear about how there isn't enough money to fund programs such as Medicare, Social Security, Social Welfare programs. Yet we never see a member of congress volunteer to take a pay cut to help put money back into the bank for these programs. They get paid vacations, unlimited paid sick leave. If they choose to not show up to work because they don't agree with something they still keep their job and get paid for the time they didn't show. The rest of us don't get that luxury. If we don't agree with our boss and don't come into work we get fired. Congress members should receive the same treatment. You don't do the job WE THE PEOPLE hired you to do you get fired. Take the pay cut and forget that vacation for a few years. Give back for once.
