On May 20th a massive tornado ripped through Moore Oklahoma and destroyed a huge swath of the town including two elementary schools.As teachers and students huddle in closet's, bathrooms and cafeteria's seeking protection from the massive storm raged around them. Due to this terrible tragedy I feel that schools shall be required to be built to a higher standard including safe rooms or other hardened rooms that are adequately sized to accommodate the schools faculty and students.
Due to this tragedy I here by petition the US government and the Department of Education to require all new school buildings being built in tornado prone areas, to be built to the level of the Civil Defense shelters as they where during the Cold War.
