The pro-gun lobby has been writing its petitions with such glaring errors as "Columbine happen in the middle of the Clinton ban," "the media and goverment have demonized the words 'assualt weapon'," "lies, to which you have been a part of," and "tragedies Like the one," to name just a few.
How can a populace that uses majuscules willy-nilly and cannot conjugate be expected to make informed decisions? Although there is no proven cause-effect relationship between deficient grammar/orthography and failure to comprehend simple, evident issues – just as there is no proven link between easy gun access and high rates of violence – anyone who has passed sixth grade gets it. This petition, therefore, will require all petitioners to pass a sixth-grade writing test before they can post to this site.
