My son has observed that grown ups become deeply engrossed with their electronic devices, and often ignore or don't even notice when their children, or other people, are nearby and want to talk.
He suggests that President Obama should require that all phones and computers have a sensor that detects when a human is nearby and wants to talk, and then a box pops up to remind the phone/computer user to take a break and engage with an actual live human.
