This proposal will discourage people from tossing their empty beverage containers on our highways, streets, yards, beaches and parks, and in the process help to beautify our nation.
For those who still toss their empty containers out their windows the redeemable deposit will create an incentive for someone to pick up the empty containers and collect the deposit.
While this idea has been implemented in some communities, a national approach seems a better strategy than the current patchwork of laws that exist at present.
