Religions are as now tax exempt, however some are accumulating a large amount of money and we don't know what they do with it, we also don't know about the majority of what they do. The only time we get information about these religions are from sources leaked by members. There could be legality issues with the religion and they can easily help the economy if they do not choose to be tax exempt. Some religions involved with this would be The Church of the Latter Day Saints, or Scientology.
