Outside of the whopping caloric intake of most State Dinners, the opulence and grandeur are a stunning contrast to the lives of those forced to pay for that opulence and grandeur.
That needs to change (y'know, Hope and Change?). Grilled cheese and canned pork and beans are good enough for us. They should be good enough for those pretending to represent us. We are forced to pay them (or suffer the consequences) and provide for their every whim. We can't afford it. Their whims need to change with the times.
Now, Mr. President, would you like cheddar or provolone?
