require that all states accept those with mental illness as an eligible group for coverage under Medicare.

Created by J.B. on April 19, 2014

According to a recent study by the National Institutes of Health, one in four adults in the US suffer from some type of mental illness.

In many states, health insurance companies are REQUIRED to cover the costs of mental health treatment. However, most adults who live below the poverty line who cannot afford healthcare (even under the ACA) are ineligible for Medicaid.

I am proposing that the Obama Administration step in and help by requiring states to add individuals with documented mental illness as a coverage group under Medicaid.
