Require all tax exempt groups, incl. religious, to disclose to public all assets/income and salaries to staff yearly.

Created by J.W. on January 30, 2014

Religious groups, including churches, are very involved in public policy and law-making. All groups that receive tax exempt status should disclose to the public on a yearly basis their assets, income, investments and expenditures. Only openness will ensure compliance with the laws. The American people and businesses work hard and carry heavy tax burdens. Any group exempt from taxes owes the American public a full accounting of stewardship. Currently churches, as one prime example, are able to collect billions in tax-free revenue and spend at will, even for political agendas or lavish lifestyles for their leadership, because these groups do not have to account for their spending even to their rank and file adherents. This petition is meant to restore fairness and promote accountability.
