require all working Americans to forward one week's pay per year for up to 5 years to only pay down the national debt.

Each working American regardless of age or income level would be required to give the equivalent to one week's pay each year for a period of 5 years. The government would be barred from spending that money on anything but paying down the national debt. Supporting such a bill would not only significantly reduce national debt but it will also reduce long term budget deficits due to lower interest payments on our debt. In addition, lower national debt will make the dollar stronger and would spur the economy thus increasing tax revenue and reducing budget deficits. This is our nation and as such our debt. For better or for worse it is up to us to pay the debt off.
