Swatting has become a prominent problem.
Swatting is the act of anonymously tipping police and making them take action to break into people's homes.
Recently, gamers and other internet "celebrities" have become victims in this wasteful method. Not only does this use tax payer's money, but it also creates a very dangerous environment for both police and the victims.
Anonymous tippers need to be held accountable for swatting innocent people. There need to be precautions taken. Anonymous tippers should provide some sort of liability to insure that their information is correct and credible, otherwise police should discard their information as fake.
There needs to be more methods and bigger threats in place to not only apprehend fake anonymous tippers, but to also prevent them from calling.
