Many people have wanted to make genetic engineering available to the public, but most of the organizations that have tried to do so have not told their patients about the risks. Many of the procedures can lead to birth defects, as well as even causing a miscarriage of the unborn child. By passing this petition up to our federal government, we will have to require any organization who wishes to enter the business of genetic modifying to follow some guidelines:
1. Make sure that your patients are fully educated on what the procedures do, as well as what the risks are.
2. What their alternatives are when it comes to deciding whether or not to modify a certain gene.
3. Walk the patient through the process of how this procedure will be done, that way there aren't any surprises.
