With numerous road rules and laws created within the past 50 years our senior citizens need to be made aware of these changes.
The test I feel they should be taking is less about how these new vehicles operate, but more to test their reaction speed and awareness. In the past 3 years alone, in the area where I live there has been numerous accidents where an elderly person has put their vehicle in either reverse or forward instead of the opposite, resulting in crashes or even going through buildings.
Almost everyday on my hour commute to work I witness the elderly either swerving, riding in between lanes, driving extremely under the speed limit and even talking on the phone while doing all of the above!
With baby boomers now coming into this age group our roads are becoming more dangerous
