Require that anyone signing a petition for permission to secede from the U.S. be a resident of such state.

As a lifetime resident of the state of Michigan, which voted overwhelmingly for President Obama in the recent election, I respectfully ask that you remove all signatures from all states' "permission to secede" petitions, except those of people who are actually residents of the state, to which the individual petition refers and to not allow people from other states to attempt to dictate the political affiliations of another. The people of Michigan have spoken with their votes and we are happy with the outcome of the election. We, the people of Michigan, vow to preserve, defend and protect the tenets of the U.S. Constitution and to remain a proud part of the United States of America!
