Require anyone who starts a petition to be literate, preferably in Standard American English (General American).

Created by B.B. on November 19, 2012

Thanks to "We the People," Americans have an easier time than ever exercising their right to petition the government. However, as Uncle Ben made clear, with great power comes great responsibility. We must ensure that this power is not abused by requiring anyone who wants to start a petition to demonstrate full literacy in Standard American English, also known as General American. If Americans want to exercise their rights, it should be likewise required that they exercise their responsibilities.
