Require a background check, ID, and paper trail for all firearms purchases, including from private sales.

Created by J.K. on September 26, 2011

Currently, all sales through gun shops require a background check to determine if buyers are felons, illegal aliens, mentally dangerous, underage, or have warrants out for their arrest. This is important to keep guns out of the hands of dangerous people. Since inception, this has prevented nearly a million gun sales over-the-counter to people in these categories.

However, in most states, *private sales* do not require a background check, ID, or any paperwork at all. It's just "cash and carry". This means that a seller does not know if the buyer is a criminal, mentally unstable, or any of the other categories of dangerous people.

We demand that background checks be required for ALL firearms purchases to keep them out of the hands of those who would abuse our Second Amendment rights.
