The Newtown, Conn. school shooting was NOT committed by a gun owner, but by a mentally unstable person (son) LIVING WITH a LEGAL gun owner. Background checks on gun owners, alone, won't keep those guns out of the hands of those who should not have immediate access to those weapons of mass destruction.
