Require backup power for all gas stations, thus eliminating extreme gasoline shortages due to widespread power outages.

The main reason for gasoline shortages after a natural disaster such as Hurricane Sandy is lack of electricity to run the pumps at gas stations. People had to wait in line for hours to get gas for their home gererators, and vehicles! If every gas station had a backup generator, this would not have been a problem. Please require gas stations to have backup power available. Or at least give them a tax deduction as encouragement to do so
