Ever tried to open an IRA?
Turns out most banks will not let you ACH funds to external accounts at other institutions that have better rates, instead you have to do a wire transfer. Which of course they charge you about $14 dollars for.
The max you can invest per year is $5,500. Some banks impose a limit of $50 per day unless you have been a member for 6 months, then you can transfer $5,000.
This is absurd, at the very least let us transfer the amount for the full IRA contribution and make it requirement that we have access to move money to and from whichever institution we want.
I've spent the past month trying to move money for free, it isn't happening unless I go to the bank and get money out. Carry it to the other bank in person and deposit it.
