Require breathalyzer checks for all traffic stops.

Drunk driving is a plight on our civilized society. Penalties for this crime are the decision of the individual states, but the ability to catch the offenders is lacking. Intoxication is not always obvious and can be hidden by crafty or experienced offenders. Speeding, running stop signs, and other small offences can often be the result of intoxication. Leaving the discovery of these offenders is left up to the discretion of the officers. Why not make it a mandatory check? Officers are all equipped with breathalyzers for spot checks. Lets make everyone stopped required to be brethalysered. It takes only a minute and can take more dangerous drivers off the road.
