Millions of healthy Americans catch disease, each year, from employees who work at companies that do not offer their employees paid time off for sickness. These companies expose unknowing customers, visitors, etc to all sorts of communicable diseases, and have them suffer the economic damage of getting sick, while they themselves attempt to avoid any economic damage from their employees being sick. Consumers have a right to know a company's sick pay policy, in order to make a more informed decision as to which companies to frequent, and which to avoid, during flu season and other periods of disease outbreak. A simple sign, either stating 'Yes, we pay our workers to stay home when sick' or 'No, we make our people come to work when sick' would be sufficient.
