Cable companies are moving to all-digital systems. Their method, however, is greedy & abusive, and devalues consumer equipment already purchased.
They have begun scrambling *all* channels (basic, extended, and premium) & are now requiring that all customers lease converter boxes to view already paid-for services.
There is no legitimate reason to scramble non-premium channels except to force customers into higher monthly fees per television, turning millions of digital TVs into glorified computer monitors.
The cable companies can rectify this by unscrambling all non-premium channels a subscriber is currently paying for. Please protect the millions of cable subscribers whose purchases have been devalued and will suffer a substantial rise in their monthly cable bills for no good reason.
