The road comedy is an essential pillar of American film. Nothing screams "USA!" like the freedom of the open road with a fat dollop physical comedy and a sprinkling of buffoonery, creating a metaphorical patriotic baked potato of laughter. Tommy Boy is about an overweight man-child on a mission to save his late father's car part company and the factory jobs of the blue collar heroes that his hometown relies on, while learning lessons of friendship, self-worth, and salesmanship along the way. It is arguably the most American film of all-time. Sadly though, some of our cable providers seem to disagree, giving it a rating of only 1 star out of 5. We cannot stand for this! An America where a beautiful film like Tommy Boy only receives 1 star is one without hope. This must change now!
