Require canditates & officials to show evidence of a passing grade in a course on identifying and using credible sources

Elected officials are very influential in the public's understanding of scientific, economic, health, and governmental issues. Because of this, elected officials have a responsibility to identify and use credible sources in their efforts at policy-making. While everyone is entitled to an opinion, we are all entitled to an accurate view of indisputable (or even disputable) facts as presented by credible experts in the particular issue's field to form useful opinions. Currently, elected officials may choose any popular source of information to peddle junk science and sway the public using emotionally charged and often scientifically unsupported statements. We deserve real, citable facts from credible sources to improve this country and enact policies that actually serve the greater good.
