Require churches to disclosure financial statements: 990s, etc

Created by K.T. on March 10, 2013

Too many churches are taking advantage of the lack of governmental financial accountability. One particular megachurch had a travel budget of $560,000, yet only had 12 full time staff.

Require churches that have revenue of over a certain amount ($1,000,000 maybe) to have to disclose financial information so that there is transparency to the supporters.

Too many megachurches are taking advantage of the tax benefits by having pastors make very large salaries, all while receiving paid travel, speaking fees, and book royalties. All of these should be disclosed to the public, including pastor salaries and benefits.
