I propose a citizenship test for all persons registering to vote. This rule will apply to all citizens without regard to original nationality. Persons applying for naturalization must pass a test. The same should apply to anyone who wishes to participate in the election process. Too many voters do not have a basic understanding of the Constitution. Many people do not understand the separation of powers and the responsibilities endowed on the three branches. Perhaps if the populace were better informed, the finger pointing could stop and the work of running the country could start.
