REQUIRE CIVIC WORK FOR CONTINUED UNEMPLOYMENT BENEFITS BEYOND 26 WEEKS.

Created by R.D. on December 21, 2012

Recent Federal unemplyment benefits have cost our working citizens over one half BILLION tax dollars.

In view of the current budget deficit and in view of the recognized deficiencies in United States Infrastructure, poor condition of public housing, parks and other public property, the need for child care and eldercare and other social services we hereby petition Congress and the President to enact legislation requiring those receiving such Federal benefits work 3 days a week on current and future funded Federal or State projects for the benefit of Society. This would, after 26 weeks of unencumbered State funded unemplyment benefits, still allow at least 2 days a week to continue efforts to find private employment.
