Require Civics Education from Grade School through High School Teaching Future Citizens the Basics!

It becomes clear after a review of this sight and from any time spent on social networks that the level of understanding of how the U.S. system of government works is sorely lacking. With the current state of education teaching to the test it seems that we have lost some of the basic education that used to be standard. People do not understand things like the Electoral College, how amendments to the Constitution work, what the three separate parts of the government work and what they are responsible for, what the President can even do, etc.. This ignorance seems to cover a broad spectrum that includes journalists, politicians, lobbyists as well as the general public. This ignorance may even be the reason that we are looking at the tragic election we have this year.
