Require colleges to notify students that the financial aid they expect to receive is being denied to them prior to the start of the semester. Currently, schools can deny your financial aid for a semester at any time before financial aid is given to the school. This means that even if you have been enrolled in a semester months before the semester began, you can be denied financial aid weeks after the semester actually starts. In most cases these schools deny you because you have made failed classes in the past. Often times schools require you to pay a portion of your tuition for a semester regardless of whether or not you choose to stay enrolled after they deny your financial aid, and by not notifying you that you will be denied, they are scamming you into taking classes with them.
