Companies selling cosmetics, household cleaners, furniture, building materials and any other products sold to the public should have to list the materials used on every product and conduct studies to determine safety of materials used before being able to offer their products on the open market. The government, namely the EPA, should not have to monitor these products. The private industries selling these products should have the burden of proof placed on them. Rates of cancer, autism and many hormonal disorders have skyrocketed in the last 30 years. It is a mystery what materials are even used to make furniture and building products. The companies should have to prove that the materials they are using will not harm the consumer and show that long-term exposure will not be harmful.
