As a vegetarian since the age of 5, there has always been difficulty a certain level of fear in buying foods, as I've come to learn companies such as Lay's potato chips contain meat not listed on the labels.
I think this is outrageous, as a food product would be required to list itself as kosher or not-- why not label vegan/vegetarian foods?
Currently, a company can buy spices from other companies combined and are not required to list anything in those except allergies.
Labelling vegetarian and vegan food is done in the EU and Great Britain, yet not here, in the United states. Why not? It would only make it easier for a growing amount of consumers unaware of something they're putting in their body to know what is being put into it- we should be able to know everything about our food.
