We ask the United States government to cause to be enacted directives and/or legislation that would require the US Congress to enter into an emergency session if they have not passed a budget by December 1st of the previous calendar year. This would require:
- All members of Congress to be present in the Congressional chambers for six hours of every day, including weekends.
- All members of Congress to furlough all but two members of their staff.
- The pay of all members of Congress to be frozen until a budget is passed.
Congress may continue to address issues other than the budget while in this emergency status.
